Tony De Leon

Tony started djing in 1996. He purchased a set of technics1210s with not much of a clue as to what he was meant to do! His music style was influenced by Andy Farley and Tony Devit, who at every chance, used to attend local clubs in the Birmingham area to listen to them play. It was through watching them, that Tony quickly picked up on the jist of things.

The first club Tony played out at was, The West End Bar in Birmingham. He was then given the opportunity to play an hours set at Birmingham’s infamous Tin Tins club. It was there that he met Andy Farley and took the opportunity to ask him to listen to a demo tape which he had recorded, to ask his opinion, which later on led to Tony being asked, and playing, at Farley’s birthday bash at the System club in Birmingham.

At this point he was introduced to someone who’d started broadcasting a new radio station. After hearing a cd he had mixed, Tony was given a prime time slot! This also led to two more weekly slots on other stations. Doing this has given him a good insight as to what people want to hear.
