Christian Classé

style of music played…

Christian doesn’t like to narrow his DJ style down to a single music genre, but just likes to refer to it as ‘Hard Music’. The main core of his style currently is built around Trance, pumping Trance and Techno with plenty of drive and energy. Christian always tries to add his own unique and uplifting yet energetic approach to the music he plays and adores. He considers his style flexible enough to warm up any event with progressive uplifting trance and mild techno, onto to raising the tempo for a main time slot.

Every now and then, Christian can be caught playing classic house sets. “I have been collecting house for many years, and it reminds me of the old days, I loved the music of back then, and I will play it every chance I get, from house parties to back rooms at clubs. Everyone loves classics”.

the beginning…

In '94, Christian Classe’s love for clubbing turned into a combined love of clubbing and djing. The late 80's, and the early 90's hardcore rave scene spurned what was for Christian, the greatest chance to express his fondness of music. With no one around to help, he learnt how to cue the beats up from watching big name dj’s on the Birmingham club circuit from Republica to Miss Moneypennys.

Self taught progression led Christian to buy his first pair of professional decks. The chances soon came to DJ at house parties and social clubs in 1996, along with fellow friend dj's. As Christian got his name known a little more he was asked to DJ for 3 hours on his first ever boat party, on the River Severn, Worcester, England. Here he showed his mixing talents to his biggest audience yet, about 200 people.

Throughout his following 3 years at University, he was regularly djing at house parties, and small nightclub venues throughout Birmingham, England. In 1999, Classe started to break through to smaller local clubs and bars, including many promoted boat parties.

2001 and beyond…

At the start of 2001, BPMRadio.co.uk formed, and Christian was approached and asked to become one of BPMRadio's regular Hard Music and Pumping dj's. To this day Christian is still BPM’s resident and now Operations Manager, and has enjoyed regular plays alongside great names such as Sander Klienenberg, Sarah G and many, many more.

When Christian joined BPMRadio, as you can imagine, he was extremely delighted as he now had the chance to do what he loved to a potentially massive audience World Wide, exceeding 90,000 unique hits per month. BPMRadio have many huge projects on the way, including BPM-TV, which will no doubt feature Christian and boost his ever-growing profile.

In July of 2001, Christian was added to 4Tune Promotions DJ Agency books.

In early 2002 Christian was snapped up to play at M.O.T!on @ the Gatehouse in Derby (Ministry of Trance) and also Sacrilege in Nottingham. Along with his regular BPM performances, Christian was being asked back to play more and more at Fluffy (recently featured in Mixmags top 75) in Birmingham after he featured in their DJ competition during the summer of 2001 and played a Trance set.

Sticking to his ever defining unique blend of hard music, it seems to have paid off, as in early 2002 Christian was approached by the promoter of Fluffy and asked to become resident on Saturdays as his sets were getting very positive feedback. Alongside his residency, Christian has been judging the Fluffy 2002 DJ Competition in Birmingham. During the latter part of 2002 Christian has played at big gigs in Birmingham alongside very big name djs and producers. Polysexual vs. Insomniacz at Code, and NEO – The Awakening at The Sanctuary. See attached flyers.

and at this moment in time…

With his residencies and BPMRadio studio commitment, Christian is now very focused on moving his djing career onto the next level in 2003. As soon as the year kicks off he will be dedicating his time to production-work of his own with dj friend, Tony Gould. Christian aims to release his own work early next year along with Tony Gould.
